CSA Adventure: Week 22

The CSA is winding down...only about 3-4 weeks left, I think...and it seems to be ending the way it began, with other miscellaneous gift items to fill in the sparse produce. It was at least fun to get a gigantic pumpkin--and we got a double share of beef, though I have no idea why.

This week's bounty:
  • two servings of lettuce
  • two dozen-ish cherry tomatoes
  • basil
  • more of that weird greens/cabbage I have no idea what to do with...completely bug-eaten
  • several cayenne peppers with a little glass bottle and instructions for preserving
  • sage hair rinse
  • a pint jar of apple cake
  • a large pumpkin
  • six farm-fresh eggs
  • a grass-fed beef chuck roast
  • grass-fed beef cutlets

Sage hair rinse?? That makes me curious...

it looks to me just like dried, crushed sage leaves (we've gotten sage several times...which is an herb I don't really use). there are instructions: boil four cups of water, add the dried sage, and then let it set until cool. you strain the herbs out, and then after shampooing and rinsing, pour the herbal rinse through your hair. you leave it in and dry your hair as normal. it says it's perfect (technically, it says it's "prefect" :P ) for dark hair, so that's good, at least.

I have no idea what it's supposed to do. I will report back when/if I get around to using it!

Hi! We had a virus on our computer so it was out of commission for about 2 weeks! Trying to get back into the swing of things and blog, but Anna Claire is keeping me busy! Hope you are well!
