Beyond Self Help

I've got a new favorite blog: GospelDrivenLife. Outstanding content that points me to the Savior every day. Here's a recent post to give you a taste:

So many people go to church to get some useful truth to apply to their lives. When we probe, we find out they are sincerely seeking to be a better person. Sounds admirable.

Three months into the Gospel of John I have concluded that it is not admirable. ...We do not need instruction in a better philosophy of life. We do not need commands to obey or a set of principles for self-improvement. If that is what we needed, then salvation may be within our reach. It is not.

...We are beyond self-help.
