Christians and Halloween
I always went trick-or-treating as a kid, and never thought much of it. Once I won an award at a party for most original costume: I had tiny boxes of cereal with plastic knives stuck through them taped all over my body. (I was a "cereal killer"--get it?) But In many conservative Christian circles, Halloween participation of any sort is highly frowned upon. Now that I'm older I wasn't sure what to think about the whole issue--and I haven't really had to give it much serious thought. But this post presents a fascinating perspective I'm not sure I've heard before. I like it.

shoot--I usually check the links but didn't verify this one. It's working now. I just don't understand how to use the "trackback pings" that a lot of blogs have. argh :)
I don't understand how to use most things that the blog can do :)
Just wanted to follow up that I liked the points made here about how being locked in a dark house on Halloween only feeds the negativity that Christians are unloving and too good for others. It's another thought for us to consider as we determine what we will allow our kids to do.
Halloween is no big deal. I use to wonder, but now I'm convinced it's fine to participate on whatever level you feel comfortable. I doubt my Christian child is going to start worshipping satan, because I let her dress up like a cheerleader and eat butterfingers.
Oh, and lovely wedding photos... I forgot to mention that.
