Faith Like a Child

Just ran across this a minute ago. Check it out when you've got some time to really reflect on simplicity and what it truly means to be disabled. Here's an excerpt:
I envy Kevin. My brother Kevin thinks God lives under his bed. ...He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. ...He reasons and communicates with the capabilities of a 7-year-old, and he always will.

...perhaps he is not the one with the handicap . . I am. ...Who knows if Kevin comprehends things I can never learn?

I had to pass that on. What a powerful reminder that God communicates to us on our level, you don't have to be a brilliant person to grasp His love. In fact, our own insecurities can be the biggest road block. Thanks Amy!

Wow! That is really powerful. Nathaniel and I once watched as a mentally handicapped girl was baptised, and it was the most incredible experience. I completely believe that those with disabilities have an amazing ability to communicate with and understand God on a level that those with "normal" intellegence can never comprehend.
