My Latest Domestic Achievement

I didn't take the time last week to post about my latest achievement in the kitchen: Homemade barbecued spareribs! My mother-in-law makes these and they are so yummy, so a while back, I asked her for the recipe. I mean, I didn't even know what meat to buy or anything. But she sent me a great detailed explanation, and so on Monday night, I made my first attempt to surprise Steve with one of his favorite things to eat.

And they were a success! We enjoyed the leftovers this afternoon. Yum!

yeah! they look good...

i thought of you yesterday, my mom and i drove to green hills to see the newest movie version of pride and prejudice... it is only in select theatres right now...and because p&p is my FAVORITE book, i had to drive to the nearest theatre that was showing it. i can't say that it was that great -- but it was worth it anyway. if you do go to see it, you might be okay with everything -- you know, at least okay with it -- but then wait until the last two or three minutes, i hate to say it, but it plummets. not to ruin anything (only to make you smile), but there is actually a scene at the end where lizzy is seen rubbing darcy's calf!!! no kidding, and then he whispers (in dorky hollywood fashion), "mrs darcy, mrs darcy, mrs darcy..." etc etc.

hmmm. i guess you just gotta smile. i wish that someone could really, really do that story justice.

Holy Cow! How could you put that picture online and not comment on the glove! I mean, what the??? Was that glove made for Goliath or something??? It goes up to your elbow! Holy Cow! Where does one get a glove like that?

Hahahaha...Paul, you made me laugh out loud--not an easy thing to do before 8 AM on a Monday morning :)

Yeah, the "glove" is pretty funny. It was a wedding gift--it's a Pampered Chef oven mitt. And no,it wasn't made for Goliath--even though it looks enormous, it fits me well inside. Though it's so puffy that it can be difficult to grasp certain things :) But no chance of getting burned--I love that thing :)
