Thankful Thursday, Take 98

Thanking God this week for...

• health--mine, my husband's, my son's...
• a strong, fun, rich marriage
• all of the ways Elijah cracked us up in 2008
• the anticipation of communicating with him and seeing him grow
• loving and supportive family and in-laws whom we actually look forward to spending time with over the holidays
• safe travels despite terrible weather conditions at times
• my new ESV Study Bible
• all the other generous and fabulous gifts I received from friends and family
• the ability to give gifts to family and friends
• the yummy traditional foods we ate at holiday gatherings
• games played and memories made
• getting to see baby Luke
• time with a dear college friend
• the fact that no one else got the awful bug I caught right before Christmas
• the fact that said bug was short-lived
• working on my heart to protect me from anger and bitterness when plans had to be cancelled
• drawing me to Himself through post-Christmas melancholy
• mercies new in this new year
